How does YEPs Work?
YEP, we’re for young lifesavers who want to experience all Surf Life Saving has to offer.

YEP’s is designed to encourage youth participation in all areas of club activity including:
- Junior Activities (nippers)
- Youth Activities
- Club Activities
- Community Project (gold level only)
From the age of 13, junior members can complete their Surf Rescue Certificate and join a club patrol. Patrolling members learn a multitude of skills including First Aid, rescue techniques, radio operations, driving or crewing inflatable rescue boats. These skills prepare lifesavers to deal with the many potential hazardous situations that may arise. Active surf lifesavers are held in high regard in the wider community and with potential employers
Applications open for the Queensland Youth Engagement Panel
Young people aged 16–25 from across Queensland, who are interested in being a voice for youth and shaping Queensland’s future, can now apply to be a member of the Queensland Youth Engagement Panel (QYEP).
This is an exciting opportunity for young people to build their leadership skills, learn about influencing change and advocate on issues that are important to young Queenslanders.
If you know a young person who would jump at the chance to play an active role in shaping government policies and initiatives, encourage them to apply!
We’re asking for your help to promote the opening of applications to your stakeholders, clients, and networks. Applications close Thursday 12 March 2020.
