Westpac Referral Program
Mackay Surf Life Saving Club is pleased to announce a new referral program with Westpac bank. How it works is very simple. Club members refer prospective loan clients to the Mackay branch of the Westpac bank. If that person takes out a new Westpac residential loan, and mentions that they were referred by our club, our club receives an upfront payment of 0.2 % (on a $250 k loan that equates to a $500 upfront payment) PLUS and on-going income stream of 0.1% per annum ($250 k per year on the same loan) for the life of the loan.
There are no added costs or fees to any introduced customer and referred customers will receive a premium service package from the local branch. Payments received by the club under this program can be used for any club purpose.
This is a great way to generate some much needed funds for our club, so please spread the word and get everyone to name drop “Mackay Surf Life Saving Club”.Talk to a committee member for further information or visit website http://www.newco.net.au/Westpacreferrerinduction/.
Surf Life Saving Clubs are not for profit organisations, which rely on donations and community grants to successfully survive in our communities. As members we rely on your support throughout the year to engage the community in our fundraising initiatives. Along with our own local and club events, Surf Life Saving Queensland runs a number of fundraising events throughout the year designed to engage the community and raise much needed funds.
Surf Safe appeal, also known as the Annual Surf Lifesaving Doorknock, is the largest annual fundraising initiative for SLSQ and the Mackay Club. It is an essential fundraiser on our calendar, generally held in late November and pivotal in ensuring that our volunteers have access to the necessary equipment and resources to keep our beaches safe. Mackay Surf Life Saving club encourages all members to participate in this annual event. The clubs fundraising levy is refundable on successful participation in the Doorknock appeal or in a club organised Doorknock appeal event (refer to the Membership Fee section)
Boardies Day gives you the opportunity to involve your work place or school, in a fun way to help out our surf lifesavers. Mackay Surf Lifesaving Club would like to encourage you to swap you corporate wear or uniform for your favourite board shorts or beach wear and make a donation.
Mackay Surf Lifesaving Club is involved with the Summer Surf Girl Program; this has proven to be a vital program to assist in raising the clubs profile along with raising valuable funds for our club.
Summer Surf Girl is first and foremost a member development program which seeks to engage female members within Surf Life Saving and to develop their skills and experience for their future careers within and outside the movement. For the duration of the program, the Summer Surf Girls become ambassadors for the movement, promoting the importance of Surf Life Saving whilst raising support and valuable funds for their Surf Life Saving Club.
Fundraising allows us to purchase and upgrade club and sports equipment, maintain facilities, cover administrative costs, pay for utilities, rates, training courses and member development . Fundraising can also assist with costs of sending teams to attend the Queensland Surf Lifesaving Championships (States).
Throughout the year the club organises a number of fundraisers including displays at Canelands, assistance with community events, raffles and fundraising BBQ’s. Details of these events will be included in the Weekly Updates or via our Facebook page. Please RSVP to the nominated contact to register you availability to help out.
